Master Christopher Tersak

Master Christopher Tersak

Owner / Head Instructor

Master Tersak is the Head Instructor at Pak’s Karate Academy of Mandarin. He is a 5th Degree black belt in Tang Soo Do with over 20 years of training and 13+ years of teaching experience. He has trained at Martial Arts schools all over the United States.  In addition to his Tang Soo Do belt, he holds ranking in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Modern Arnis, and Taekwondo.  In 2015, While attending graduate school Master Tersak, along with his wife (Angelina) and brother (Master Nicholas), purchased the school from his instructor upon his retirement so that Pak’s Karate Academy would continue to serve the families of the Mandarin and Northern St. John’s County communities. Along with his Martial Arts rankings, he now holds a Doctorate degree in Pharmacy.  He strives to instill the Black Belt Mindset in all of his students.  With the main goal of developing self-confidence in his student, Master Tersak hopes to give them the tools to become the best that they can be. 

Master Nicholas Tersak

Master Nicholas is 20 years old and is one of Pak’s Karate’s most avid and well-rounded instructors. He recently received his 4th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo and manages most of what goes on in classes. He directs the beginner program, demo program, and Filipino Martial Arts (Kali) at the school. He also leads the initiative to partner with Great Strides, a special needs development school.  Here he employs his Martial Arts abilities to provide a physical education component and exercise curriculum to help them succeed. Master Nicholas is the instructor who teaches the advanced classes and specialty classes. Additionally, Master Nicholas has ranking in both Modern Arnis and Taekwondo. 

Master Kevin Haenszel

Senior Instructor

Master Kevin Haenszel is a 5th Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo and was the first Tiger student to attain both his black belt and Master Belt at Pak’s Karate Academy of Mandarin. He is the senior instructor who manages our Black Belt Club (intermediate) classes and the black belt preparation course for 3rd Degree Black Belts. He has been training for over 20 years and has over 10 years of teaching experience of all ages. He is heavily involved in the development of our future leaders, our black belt program, and teen program.  Along with his commitment to teaching and training in the Martial Arts, he is attending college pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy.

Master Robert Haenszel began his training in the mid 1990’s and is currently the senior belt at Pak’s Karate Academy of Mandarin. He is a 5th Degree Black belt in Tang Soo with over 20 years of training and over 10 years of teaching experience. Master Bobby contributes to both the teaching at Pak’s Karate Academy as well as in our After School Program in the schools of St. John’s County.

Mrs. Angelina began her martial arts training in 2009 and is currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo. She is in active intense training for her 3rd Degree test that occurs in November of 2017.  She runs the front desk and manages the school; people love her addictive personality. She is able to teach students of all ages and manages both the Adult special needs program and the Black Belt Preparation Course. 

Missy Miles

Assistant Instructor / After School Program Director

Missy Miles is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo and has been training in the Martial Arts since 2005. She has been a fitness trainer and consultant for the YMCA for many years. She currently runs the After School program in Northern St. Johns County and helps teach our beginner classes. She has 3 children, all of whom are 3rd Degree Black Belts and are actively involved in the leadership development program at the school. 

Selby Miles

Assistant Instructor

Miss Selby is 18 years old and a graduate of Mandarin High School. She is currently a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo and will be the first person in her family to take the Master test in 2018.  She was recently accepted into the University of Florida Innovation College. Miss Selby is involved with teaching in the After School Program, Tiger Classes, beginner classes, advanced classes, and runs the black belt preparation course for 2nd Degree Black belts and is one of the school’s leaders in the teaching of Kali.
